About
I am a very lucky man. God has blessed me with a very beautiful wife and 3 incredible kids. I’ve a great job and I get to work on projects (on the side) doing the things I love. (Big thankyou to wife and kids!)
The Background
I’ve apparently always had “The Nack”. From a young age, I’ve been pulling apart whatever toys or machines I could… before my parents could find me. I’ve always had an interest in electronics, mechanical and software systems. I tried many Dick Smith Learning Electronics kits, while learning whatever I could from my Dad’s books on computer programming. I couldn’t get enough of my parents books on how things worked and always had a new “project” brewing.
I followed this trend into university to pursue an electrical engineering degree. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite what I was after so I “hacked” my course and graduated with a general engineering degree from UTS, Sydney (Australia). This degree combined mechanical, electrical and software engineering courses. It was great being able to study the enjoyable subjects that I could see myself using, and it lead to some very enjoyable projects.
Along the way at university, I met my gorgeous wife. The moment I layed my eyes on her I was sold! We got married and I managed to finish my degree just before the birth of my first son. It didn’t take long before we had two more kids running around the house. Once you have kid’s you’ll wonder what you ever did with your spare time!

The Present
Now I work full time as a software engineer for a large multi-national company, while moonlighting under the name Bitfuturistic Solutions. I love the challenges that contracting brings, and wish I had the opportunity to branch out into contracting full time. In whatever “spare time” I can muster, I try to keep my brain active with various projects, or repairing/augmenting broken toys. If you would like to know more about my technical competencies please checkout my Services page.
What should you expect reading my blog? I hope to post a few projects on here, ranging from software through to robotic systems and toy tear downs. You may also find some bible teaching that I’ve been enjoying, or links to articles from other sites featuring interesting items. If you enjoy what you find here, please let me know!
